CBD cream, balm, gel or massage oil?

A cream absorbs quickly and suits larger areas; a CBD balm is wax-based, thicker and stays on the skin longer; a CBD gel feels light and cool; a CBD massage oil glides for a longer massage. A CBD roll-on puts the product on the skin without touching it. All are for use on the skin only.

Cooling or warming?

Menthol and camphor give a cooling sensation on the skin; capsicum or ginger extracts give a warming one. The sensation comes from these ingredients and is listed on the pack, with CBD in the same formula.

How much CBD is in a CBD cream?

The pack states the CBD in milligrams — for example 500 mg in a 50 ml jar. Compare creams by the CBD per pack and the size; the full ingredient list is on the pack.

What is the difference between a CBD cream and a CBD balm?

Texture. A cream is water-based and absorbs fast; a balm is made of waxes and oils, is thicker and stays on the skin longer.

Can I use a CBD balm for massage?

Yes. Balms and massage oils are made to be worked into the skin; an oil glides longer, a balm stays where it is applied.

Do CBD creams contain THC?

Body creams use CBD isolate or extracts with the THC removed. The measured value is in the batch report of the product.

Can athletes use a CBD cream?

CBD has not been on the WADA Prohibited List since 2018, but THC is. Athletes choose isolate or broad spectrum products and keep the batch report.

How should I store a CBD cream?

Closed, below 25 °C and away from direct sunlight. The label gives the period of use after opening.
